Welcome to the Under 7s at Aldwinians RUFC

The Under 7s squad is the perfect introduction to rugby for our youngest players. Our team is made up of children who are 6 years old (Year 2 at school) as of 1st September, and we focus on building skills, confidence, and most importantly, having fun!

Learning Through Tag Rugby

From Under 6s through to Under 8s, players take part in Tag Rugby – a non-contact version of the game designed to help children develop key rugby skills in a safe and enjoyable environment. At this age, the focus is on:

Running forwards with confidence
Evasion and movement skills
Passing and teamwork
Creating and using space
And of course… scoring tries! 🎉

From Under 7s upwards, the children also begin to play friendly matches against local clubs, both home and away. These fixtures are non-competitive and are all about enjoyment, learning, and building friendships on and off the pitch.

Kit and Club Spirit

Every Under 7 player receives a club match shirt to wear with pride. Families also have the option to purchase additional items, including shorts, socks, hoodies, and more, so our young players can feel part of the team wherever they go.
