App privacy policy
Last updated 7 October 2026
In short
- You don’t need an account, and the app never asks for your name, email or phone number.
- There are no adverts, no tracking and no analytics.
- If you turn on notifications, we store a notification code for your device and the teams and news you chose, so we can send you the updates you asked for. Nothing else.
Who we are
The Aldwinians app is run by Aldwinians RUFC, Audenshaw Park, Droylsden Road, Audenshaw, Manchester M34 5SN, a registered charity (no. 1179794). We are responsible for the information described here. Questions about this policy or your information go to info@aldwinians.co.uk.
What the app does without storing anything about you
Reading club news, fixtures, events, teams and sponsors doesn’t identify you. The app simply downloads the club’s content. Links in the app open our website, the app stores, Club Key or other websites, which have their own privacy policies.
What we store if you turn on notifications
Notifications are off until you turn them on, and your phone asks your permission first. When they’re on, the app saves:
- A notification code (push token) from Apple or Google, which lets us send notifications to your device.
- A random ID for this installation of the app, created on your phone, so your settings stay attached to it.
- Your notification choices: whether notifications are on, which teams you follow and which kinds of news you want.
- Your phone type and device name (for example “iPhone”), which help us sort out problems with notifications.
- When you last changed your settings.
We use this only to send you the notifications you’ve chosen, and never for marketing by anyone else. We rely on your consent, which you can withdraw at any time by turning notifications off in the app or in your phone’s settings.
Who helps us run it
- Supabase hosts the club’s database, where the notification settings above are kept.
- Expo, Apple and Google deliver notifications to your phone. They receive the notification code and the message, as they do for every app.
We don’t sell or share your information with anyone else. Some of these services may process data outside the UK; where they do, they use the safeguards UK data protection law requires.
How long we keep it
We keep your notification settings while the app is on your phone. When we next send a notification after the app has been deleted (or notifications have been permanently turned off), Apple or Google tell us that the device no longer accepts them, and we delete its settings automatically. You can also ask us to delete them at any time.
Your rights
Under UK data protection law you can ask to see, correct or delete the information we hold about your device, or object to how we use it. Email info@aldwinians.co.uk. Turning off notifications or deleting the app stops any new information being stored. If you’re unhappy with how we’ve handled your information, you can complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office at ico.org.uk.
Children
The app is for everyone in the club, including juniors and their families. It has no accounts and collects no names or contact details, so it doesn’t knowingly collect personal information from children.
Changes to this policy
If the app changes what it collects, we’ll update this page before that version is released and change the date at the top.
